Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a type of chemical compound with chemical formula N2O. When nitrous oxide is placed at room temperature is a type flammable, colorless and gas, and has a pleasant sweet taste and slightly sweet smell. It is usually used in surgery because of the density and the analgesic effect and aesthetics. The custom is called laughing gas, because the euphoric effects that occur after inhalation. This property has gas is used as an inhalant recreational drug. Oxide can also be used as an oxidant especially in motorsport and rockets for the sole purpose of increasing capacity in most of the engines. The gas is also created in the fires. The first evidence of the use of nitrous oxide is made during the Second World War. At that time, acted as the increase in combat aircraft. The first technology, the aircraft is primarily used to control the mechanisms that combatants were to get an additional team, especially when it was almost an enemy that is capable of targeting a better chance to hit the enemy. Nitrous oxide is known to react with ozone and is considered the primary regulator of stratospheric ozone that occurs naturally. It is also the main gas in green houses. It has two hundred eight times more impact per unit weight compared to carbon dioxide. This technology was necessary at high altitudes especially in cases where the oxygen content in the air began to diminish. Today, the oxide is still an upgrade kit for the engine, but the only difference is used in race cars. This was first seen in NASCAR race cars. From now on, is especially popular with cars drifting. The fuel is normally burned in the air and is able to turn the energy needed to produce a moving vehicle. The main reason for using nitrous oxide in race cars because it is able to stimulate the combustion process thus increasing engine power. Pure oxygen produces a large amount of energy when it is present in the motor and the combustion engine. To remedy this, one can mix air and fuel and then burn the motor. Injection of nitrogen oxides in the engine system will be able to break down into oxygen and nitrogen and therefore provides pure oxygen needed to be able to burn fuel and that this action, in turn adds power to the vehicle. Nitrogen is inert in nature and does not react with other atoms. Instead it creates a cooling effect that is capable of most of the heat generated by combustion of pure oxygen to be taken. There are 2 different types of nitrous systems currently used, ie injection and Wet Dry nitrous oxide injection. Nitrous oxide systems have various applications, ranging from assistance in burning car fuel to hospitals and provides an analgesic effect and aesthetics.
